I am going to assume this is not a leather bag (at to the lowest degree where the straps attach).
I suggest if you don't have a heavy-duty sewing car that y'all take information technology to an upholsterer. They can put some fabric behind the surface area which ripped to reinforce it and and then sew a new strap.
Good luck, this has happened to me and it is depressing.

Actually Miles has the right thought. A professional upholsterer would have the machine to do it right... question would be if yous could afford the upholsterer?

You forgot that Macgyver can make a bomb out of gum!Duct tape and baling wire.... at least that's how McGyver would do it...
Now, what the other guys said is to accept the bag to an upholsterer and have them patch it upward for you.

I've as well taken this opportunity to re-hang the pocketbook and then information technology minimises wear on the straps.

This was my first heavy handbag-in 1975. I got free sawdust from a local lumbermill and sand from the beach. It was a keen purse....til it ripped.I usually buy the "navy" duffle bag and it holds upwardly well cause the sheet holds upward by body of water-worthiness design.

The sand/weight was the thing that hurt it.....This was my first heavy bag-in 1975. I got free sawdust from a local lumbermill and sand from the beach. It was a not bad bag....til information technology ripped.Miles
